Whatever "it" is, you are going to have to put some amount of effort into getting it. Don't just sit back, hoping and praying things will work out. For any achievement, action is required. You get out of it, what you put into it.

This piece seems to be my experiment board. Its got at least 3 layers of paints, glass beads, and today I tried this new gold ink on it I just got. Played with spraying alcohol on it too. I'm sure it will change again at some point.

AED - Day 177 - more faux

I totally forgot to take before pictures.

Today I distressed these cabinets in a bathroom - they were a solid taupe color and I white washed them with a pearl colored paint mixed with glaze.

I also painted parts of this stained glass window. The dark brown/burgundy pieces were a bright orange that did match the surrounding rooms decor at all. I also toned down the bright green and yellow pieces with a gold paint.

AED - Day - 176 - faux

Today I fixed a faux finish. It had been painted by someone else (when I was really busy and couldn't do it last summer) to match the adjacent room which I had done a couple years ago. Unfortunately the other painter did not apply the topcoat the way I had done, so it came out much darker and muddier, and the client was not happy with it. So today I did my best to adjust it without having to totally repaint it from scratch.

You can see from the first picture what I did - the top section of the wall looks very solid, the bottom section below the light switch, and the soffet are what I adjusted it to (lighter with more dimension). The second picture shows the wall I did a few years ago (with the vase on it) and I adjusted the walls closest to the cabinet to match (they were solid looking before -No dimension). It is still not an exact match but to get an exact match would have required going back to white and starting over. The client wanted an easy fix and was happy with the results.

AED - Day 175 - you mean something

AED - Day 172 - a new beginning

Inspired by the song - When Dove's Cry - I felt compelled to paint a dove in honor of Prince and his untimely death today. I was not a die hard fan of his, but I was a fan and liked his music. It was a part of my life growing up in the 80s and his songs take me back to that time. Rest in Peace.

They mean wisdom, intuition and the winds of change, thus my recent paintings and sketches.

AED - Day 169 - winds of change

I redid the chakra painting from a few weeks ago into this - the winds of change.  It still encompasses the colors of the chakras with the root colors flowing into the enlightened ones showing their interconnectedness as changes are being made.

Haha I dunno what to call this yet. It still needs some fine tuning and detail work. This was an experiment with crackle and modeling paste. The face is not great, but its not horrible for a first time playing with pastes.

This painting I created a few days ago and was going to enhance further but the Phoenix appeared to me, rising from the fire, so I left it the way it was.

Fancy blue whale sketch. Been doing some research on spirit animals. Did you know the blue whale is the largest animal and has the largest heart of any creature in the world (yet it only beats 6 times a minute)? Its so big (the size of a small car) a human can walk thru it. Whale symbolizes emotional creativity, well being, nurturing and emotional depth. They are masters of navigation, communication and conservation. They are renowned for their soul songs, songs that heal and enrich the soul, and they encourage you to follow your own soul song.

I'm struggling with this one. What should've taken me a few hours has taken all day cuz I keep changing it. Or I should say trying to fix it and adding things and its messing it up more. Just doesn't look like my original sketch and vision. Sigh. Need to walk away and look at it another time with fresh eyes.
